CDTI CERTIFIES THE FIRST MILESTONE OF A R&D PROJECT LED BY UVESA

 22th september 2017 – The Board of Management of the Center for Tecnológico Industrial (CDTI) of the Ministry of Economy has certified the first milestone of the R & D project, “Research and experimental development of new healthier food and advanced packaging”, in the framework of the strategic consortium of national business research (CIEN) program.

New advances to get healthier food and packaging advanced with an investment of 7 million euros.

This project was one of those selected by the CDTI in the call one hundred of the year 2015, which aims to fund major projects of experimental development in strategic areas for the future and potential international projection.

With an investment of more than 7 million euros, the aim of the study focuses on obtaining new functional ingredients and functional formulations for the food industry, as well as new systems and advanced materials in packaging, to investigate allow obtaining meat healthier and multifunctional products and which respond to the demands of consumers and public authorities in the field of health and sustainability.

The initiative is made up of a consortium of nationally with seven business partners, in which some of the most important companies in the agri-food sector, ingredients and packaging in our country are present. Led by UVESA, it boasts participation as partners in ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN, BANDESUR ALCALA, BTSA biotechnologies applied, MONTELOEDER, NUREL and PLASTIENVASE. In addition, together with these companies are 11 public renown research institutions belonging to different universities and CSIC centres.
