March 8, 2013.– The UVESA Group has joined the project “Food is not wasted, take it.” This initiative, promoted by the Spanish Association of Commercial Codification (AECOC), combines the efforts of all the companies related to the food sector, all operating levels to reduce waste and optimize the use of “surplus”.
With its commitment to this project, which are currently part more than 200 companies, Grupo UVESA collaborate in the fight against food waste, a problem which involves important economic, environmental, social and reputational costs for companies.
The AECOC Congress of Meat Products and Processed held the last 5 and 6 March, it has been the framework for public commitment of companies in the sector, as UVESA Group, have already joined this initiative to reduce food waste. In it, the company made a commitment, shared by all who are part of this project, to sensitize the whole society on the need to combat food waste to avoid, as currently occurs, it is wasted each year one third of the total of the food produced in the world.
