- Following an exhaustive audit process covering the entire chicken production system
Rafelbunyol (Valencia), 7 November 2025. – Grupo UVESA, one of the leaders in the Spanish food industry, has received from SGS, an independent inspection, verification and certification body for the agri-food sector, the voluntary labelling certificate relating to the chicken rearing and feeding system, which certifies compliance with European legislation (Regulation (EC) 543/2008) and the company’s own specifications.
This recognition is awarded following an exhaustive audit process carried out by SGS throughout the chicken production system, including the poultry control department, farms, feed mills and processing centres, which are subject to these specifications. Slow-growing yellow chicken meat comes from birds with a minimum rearing period of 56 days, fed with more than 65% cereals, of which at least 50% is corn, and with a 100% vegetable diet.
The presentation ceremony took place at the Rafelbunyol plant (Valencia) and was attended by Vicente Guerrero, Regional Director for the Levante Area, and Myriam Bujalance Azorín, Director of Quality and Food Safety, on behalf of UVESA. Representing SGS were Álvaro Rodríguez de Roa, Business Assurance Director, Eduardo Palú, Technical Director of Food Business Assurance, and María Luisa Vázquez, Specialised Sales Manager.
