- Andalusia’s farms will be supplied by two new tanks that double their loading capacity
- These vehicles reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30% compared to conventional vehicles.
UVESA Group moves forward again in its strategy towards a more sustainable mobility of their products. Thanks to its collaboration with Grupo Capitan, its logistics operator of reference in Andalusia, has launched two tanks for the transport of feed that double their load capacity compared to conventional and, therefore, optimize the routes necessary for the supply of their farms in the community.
Specifically, the vehicle, presented today at the FIGAN fair in Zaragoza at the Cubas Segre stand, is a Dúo Tráiler made up of a front semi-trailer connected with a Dolly to another rear semi-trailer. Its main advantage is a significant saving in fuel and CO2 emissions, which can reach up to 30% compared to conventional transport, as it is authorised for a total of 70 tonnes and has a load capacity of around 45 tonnes.
For Juan Fernández, regional director of the Southern Zone of the Uvesa Group, “the synergy with Gran Capitán is a new example of our sustainability strategy and our firm commitment to the environment. More efficient transport is part of the necessary transition in which we are immersed as a company and as a society”.
For his part, José Antonio Capitán Arroyo, CEO of Grupo Capitán, “the great advantage of this equipment is that a single truck moves almost twice as much as a conventional semi-trailer, which allows us to minimise transfers and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is a satisfaction to be able to work side by side with Uvesa and achieve transformational changes that respond to the needs of our community”.
