UVESA Group has renewed its commitment to the conservation of biodiversity and environmental education, through a series of actions developed in collaboration with the organization GREFA (Group for the Rehabilitation of Native Fauna and their Habitat). These actions will be carried out throughout 2025 at the Centro Naturaleza Viva, a benchmark facility for environmental education in Spain, located at GREFA’s facilities in Majadahonda (Madrid).
As part of its policies of sustainability and corporate social responsibility, UVESA sponsors the creation of a permanent interpretive space in the Centro Naturaleza Viva, focusing on the Red Kite, an emblematic bird of prey in danger of extinction in the Iberian Peninsula. This space will include specialized signage that will inform about: the biology and ecology of the bird, its population and current distribution, the threats facing the species and the conservation actions that GREFA develops for its protection.
In addition, UVESA collaborates financially with educational visits to the centre for schoolchildren and family groups. So far, the centre has received a total of 2,482 visitors. Thanks to this support, the Navarre company, a benchmark in the Spanish poultry industry, reinforces the role of environmental education as a key tool to raise awareness in new generations.
Also, as part of its collaboration, UVESA will sponsor during 2025 to Victoria, a copy of Red Kite released by GREFA and monitored by GPS. This female was marked as a chick in Guadarrama in 2018 and, after being rescued at Barajas airport in 2020, was reintroduced into the wild. Since then, she has been located breeding successfully in the area of El Molar (Madrid).
