The Minister of Innovation, Business and Employment, José María Roig Aldasoro, has delivered this morning a diploma at 30 navarras companies in 2010 developed action plans to integrate measures of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in their management.

This was made possible with the support of the Government of Navarra, which provided a grant of 100,000 euros for this purpose, and performing 40 diagnostics of CSR to know their current situation. For this year it is expected to approve a new call for aid worth 120,000 euros. It also seeks to design a new CSR certification system, and the implementation of the Award for corporate social responsibility to recognize the most outstanding initiatives.

The aid was launched in 2009 following the approval by the Provincial Executive Plan promoting CSR Navarra, the first of its kind promoted by an autonomous community, which sets among its priority areas, the implementation of public policies promote a framework and appropriate tools for business strategy. In this way it contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Navarran companies.

Companies that access aids are accompanied in the diagnostic process and in defining performance measures by the Environmental Resource Center (CRANA), which has developed this methodology to “innovate”. They were also assigned a consulting firm, properly accredited to perform diagnostic work and proposed measures.

The aspects evaluated include the economic dimension (legal obligations, governance, remuneration, investment and profitability, profit distribution, supplier management or payment terms); the environmental dimension (environmental management systems, waste, waste, pollution, packaging or environmental training), and the social dimension (security policies, occupational health and risk prevention, worker participation, equal opportunities and family reconciliation ).
