– The environmental management and maintenance of UVESA facilities are two of the main tasks covered by this partnership
In the production centre of UVESA Group in Burgos since March have been collaborating with the CISA Foundation, linked to the Social Group Aspanias, in various projects of social and labour inclusion aimed at people who find greater difficulties to normalize their professional environment.
In the facilities that until May 2021 belonged to the Cooperativa Avícola Burgalesa (COBUR), when they were acquired and reactivated by Grupo UVESA, a Navarrese company specialising in chicken, a dozen CISA workers are designing projects to improve environmental management, waste management (IBC containers, used oil, etc.) and waste recovery, thus recovering part of the investment made by UVESA.
Last spring they also carried out gardening work, outdoor maintenance, pruning and treatments.
Also, one of the Departments of Uvesa composed of 12 people, has entrusted the sanitation, washing and ironing of their work clothes to the industrial laundry which has Cisa Foundation, which employs 25 people working together with the Cisa Foundation.
Through this alliance UVESA Group pursues a double social and environmental contribution because by combining synergies with the CISA Foundation, linked to the Social Group Aspanias, improving the employability of these people and, therefore, expand their options to have a sustainable and autonomous life project, something that in the medium and long term is also very positive for the whole society.
For Víctor Carranza, Head of Quality and Environment at the Burgos plant, the experience with the CISA Foundation, linked to the Aspanias Social Group, “has been very rewarding for both parties because we cover maintenance and recycling needs for certain products thanks to the work of CISA workers”. “These synergies are sure to grow because CISA offers services in many areas that could be of interest to us and we maintain fluid communication to improve them and, over time, expand them”, “in fact, CISA Foundation has now become a customer of our products for their care centres” adds Miguel Larra, head of the Commercial Delegation in the capital of Burgos.
